Today, we remember Paolo Freire, who passed away in 1997 and remains one of the key thinkers inspiring the educational philosophy of our Village.

Freire’s educational philosophy continues to be practiced by countless educators and communities worldwide. His methods encourage individuals to contribute to social transformation through processes of critical thinking and conscious awakening (conscientização). By fostering a dialogue-based approach, Freirean pedagogy empowers learners not just to receive knowledge, but to perceive and challenge the world around them.
