Event Purpose
In this activity, unlike traditional academic education programs, we aim to transform the active contributions of participants into a collective product. Differing from an environment where instructors convey pre-determined topics in the field of artificial intelligence to students, reading suggestions and potential discussion topics will be determined collectively during the flow of formal and informal discussions. The event will thus build a real-time critical discussion environment on how AI-based technologies are transforming economies, societies, and cultures. Potential topics:
Ethics, transparency, and security in AI use
Explainable AI
Audit of data-driven decision support systems
AI and consciousness (unconscious)
AI use in creative sectors (music, academic knowledge production, visual arts)
AI in the biomedical field

A reading list will be distributed to participants before they arrive in Foca. The readings will be updated during the discussions held in class.

"Technology, Ethics, and Security Networks Based on the participants' shared experiences on the first day, ethical principles, transparency, and security boundaries in the use of artificial intelligence will be examined through a collective inquiry. In the first informal session, the auditing of data-driven decision support systems and the social reflections of these processes will be opened for discussion through current examples." |

"Transparency of Algorithms and Explainable AI The focus of the day will be the concept of explainable AI, which aims to make the functioning of black-box algorithms visible, and the corporate accountability of these systems. In line with reading suggestions to be determined with the participants, how technical processes can be moved to a human-oriented and auditable ground will be discussed." |

"Artificial Intelligence and Consciousness (Unconscious) In this interdisciplinary session, the boundaries between the concepts of artificial intelligence and consciousness (unconscious) will be critically examined by investigating the philosophical dimension of artificial intelligence systems. The hidden epistemological assumptions and tendencies emerging in technology-generated outputs and language models will be analyzed with the contributions of the participants." |

"Transformation in Creative Sectors The role of artificial intelligence in fields such as music, academic knowledge production, and visual arts will be addressed within the framework of authenticity and copyright discussions. Participants will question how technology transforms creative processes and intellectual production, laying the foundations for a joint evaluation report at the end of the day." |

"Biomedical Future and Collective Synthesis In the final topic of the week, the use of artificial intelligence in the biomedical field will be discussed through future-shaping dynamics such as human lifespan and health ethics. At the closing of the program, ideas that have matured in formal and informal sessions over 5 days will be transformed into a final collective product with the active contributions of the participants." |
